Frequently Asked Questions

How much does counseling cost?

This will vary depending on the counselor that you see and the number of sessions. Our graduate level interns have a fee of $30 per session, while our licensed counselors have a fee of $75 per session.

Does the clinic take insurance?

At this time, the clinic does not take insurance.

Do I need to bring anything to my first session?

Once your first appointment is scheduled, you will receive an email with a link to complete the initial paperwork. If you prefer to complete the paperwork in-person, we recommend arriving 10 to 15 minutes early to your first session and the paperwork will be provided to you.

Do the interns receive supervision?

As a part of their academic and internship requirements, our interns receive weekly supervision with a licensed counselor in the clinic.

What should I know about arriving at the clinic?

Our office is located at 860 N. LaSalle (the building is located behind the flag poles and the entrance to the clinic will have a G1 above the door). If you are driving, please park in Lot C. You enter the lot off of Wells street on the corner of Wells and Walton. Please park in the spots that are marked for the MTS counseling center located at the southeast corner of the lot. If there are no spots available, please park in any available spot. Look for the sign that points you to “MTS Counseling Center” and then request a parking pass from the front desk when you arrive.

Do you offer group counseling?

Yes, the clinic is regularly offering different groups. If you are interested in learning about upcoming group offerings, contact us and we'd be happy to send you more information!

Are you a Christian clinic?

Each counselor and supervisor in the clinic has training and experiencing in providing Christian counseling. Our approach focuses on integrating faith with professional counseling care to meet your needs. While we value making Christian integrated counseling available, we also value providing quality care that meets you right where you are no matter your background or walk of life.
