Trauma Care Center
Educating, training, and providing trauma-informed care in the city of Chicago
Trauma
Trauma has had a tremendous effect on the world we live in today. 70 % of adults and more than 33% of youth in the U.S have experienced some type of trauma. Trauma can affect all parts of our daily life and can cause emotional, psychological, and physical distress. While trauma causes many challenges, there are tools available to help those suffering. If you want to learn more about ways you can get involved, we'd love to hear from you.
Care
Interns and staff at the MTS Counseling Center are trained and supervised to serve those who are seeking individual, couple, or family counseling and dealing with various forms of trauma. We know navigating the many effects of trauma is painful and exhausting, and we believe you and what you've experienced matters. If you or someone you know is seeking support, we are here to help.
Training
The Trauma Care Center focuses on educating and providing our students and clinicians with hands-on training and experiences. We have partnered with Green Cross to deploy for aftercare to those who have been affected by gun violence, either primarily or secondarily. We also offer trainings on site at the MTS Counseling Center for Green Cross certification for professionals in the counseling field, as well as for students. If you are interested in learning more or registering for one of our upcoming trainings, we'd love to hear from you.
